NEW CUMBERLAND -- Charles William Rice, Jr., the man charged for the murder of Shari Paris will appear before a Hancock County Magistrate at 9 am. Friday Morning. Paris was shot to death at her New Cumberland apartment early Saturday.

When officers arrived at 101 Morris Street apartment A, they found Paris on the floor of the living room with what appeared to be a gun shot wound.

The Medical Examiner pronounced her dead at the scene. New Cumberland Police and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department nabbed their suspect, Charles Rice, nearby. He was the one that made the 911 phone call from a neighbors house.

Authorities say this is a tragedy.

Paris was the mother of three children. Police say Rice was Paris' live-in boyfriend. One of Paris' three children was actually in the house when the shooting happened.

Rice is now in the Northern Regional Jail.
