Ney Is now on WVLY.

Story by Jerry Echemann

WHEELING -- A brand new radio show began today featuring former Ohio Congressman Bob Ney.

It airs on WVLY AM 1370.

According to morning host Howard Monroe, Ney will focus on ethics, earmarks, prison reform and Ohio Politics.

In 2006, Ney pleaded guilty to conspiracy and making false statements in connection with a probe into lavish gifts by lobbyists. Ney served 17 months in prison until his release in August of last year.

"The buzz? It's been quite frankly surprising. I expected a lot of negative feedback. Let's face it, the man was the poster child for corruption. While I've gotten some of that it's no where near the amount I expected. So, we'll get the show going and see what happens when the calls start coming in." Monroe told 7News.

The show will air from 1p.m. until 3p.m. on every weekday afternoon.

Excuuusse me ! Bob Ney is a "good guy" because he had the balls to stand up and admit he was a crook? That's one simply amazing piece of logic you got working for you there, dude. It's bend over backwards permissive thinking like that that has helped get us so many Bob Ney's and Duke Cunninghams in positions of power in the first place. And rewarding this scum bag with a radio gig sets just a terrible example. Bob Ney ought to be relegated to standing on a street corner with a tin cup begging for handouts. And some of you voters need to smarten up!

Bob Ney's relationship with Jack Abramoff was terrible but he did his time for it. The "Freedom Fries" stuff was horrible and helped diminish our standing in the world. I can forgive all that. But I will never, never forgive this man for his role in disenfranchising voters.

Shame. On. You.
