Wheeling -- West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin covered a lot of ground while in Wheeling on Wednesday, August 26.
The governor stopped at Wheeling Jesuit University to observe a special Program Showcase as the campus prepares for the arrival of its students.
Manchin also visited Russell Nesbitt Services main center, meeting with consumers, families, staff and administrators. RNS serves individuals with disabilities in Ohio, Marshall, and Wetzel County and just celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008.
Governor Manchin also met with members of the Upper Ohio Valley's Italian Heritage Festival's board of directors Wednesday. The governor says the festival provides a positive influence on the City of Wheeling. He added, the Italian Festival contributes economically, socially, and culturally to the area.
On Thursday, Manchin will remain in the Northern Panhandle, conducting a town hall meeting on at the Millsop Center in Weirton from 11:30 until 1p.m. 7News will have team coverage and live stream the town hall meeting right here on wtrf.com.
