MONROE COUNTY, OHIO -- Almost $4 million in marijuana plants are confiscated and a Sardis, Ohio man is in police custody.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department tells 7News that Joseph W. Clark, 45, was allegedly growing the plants on Wayne National Forest property in Jackson Twp.
The United States Forest Service found the marijuana patch containing 1,813 plants.
Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black Junior said, authorities used motion sensors and when Clark came to tend to the plants he was greeted by police and arrested.
"We searched Clark's home and found 70 pounds of marijuana, some drug paraphernalia, and items used to distribute the pot," said Sheriff Black.
Clark is charged with cultivation, but more federal charges are pending.
