BELLAIRE, Ohio -- 20 students were out for Thursday, Oct. 29, which is still high in such a small school.
But that's better than 36 absences on Monday, which was one third of the student body.
Many parents report their children are now fever free, but they kept them home one last day just to get their strength back.
The principal said school officials put those two days to good use.
"Over the last couple of days, we have taken the time to clean the building," said Joe DeGenova, St. John's Grade School principal. "We disinfected as much as possible, wiping the desks down. The janitor was in, disinfecting the floors, the doors, the stairwells, everything top to bottom."
And the disinfecting is still going on.
Teachers can be seen using antibacterial wipes, aerosol spray and hand sanitizing gel.
Teachers said they hope the attendance will be back up tomorrow.
