BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The shocking loss last week to North Carolina has left a sour taste in the mouth of the No. 23 Hokies.
“We still think about the game, but we’re not dwelling on it,” tight end Andrea Smith said. “We’re only thinking about because there’s so much we need to work on.”
A lackluster Hokies defense let the Tar Heels drive up and down on Tech last Thursday.
Costly mistakes on both sides of the ball for Virginia Tech ultimately led to Tech's second straight loss.
“Consistency has been our main problem,” wide receiver Dyrell Roberts said. “This week we’ve started to work on getting back on track into the right direction.”
Tech has now lost one Thursday night game every year in the last four years.
Prior to this recent Thursday night funk, Virginia Tech had won 11 straight.
They'll play another Thursday night game 7:30 p.m. this week at East Carolina.
