ATHENS -- Panthers enter this year's playoffs with as the 12th seed with a modest 7-3 record.
One of those wins for PikeView came last week as they destroyed a young Midland Trail team 68-14 and one of those three losses game at the hands of this week's playoff opponent Westside.
Lets rewind four weeks ago. PikeView traveled to Westside and played a tough hard fought game vs. the Renegades.
Westside ended up squeezing out a 15-7 win, but the loss turned out to be one of PikeView's best played games all year.
"We learned a lot about ourselves from that game and even though we lost, I though my kids played extremely well," PikeView Head Coach Jeff Damewood said.
The Panters also learned they need to stop Westside's powerful running back Travis Whitten.
“Westside has a great running back in Whitten,” Damewood said. “We learned from that loss, our defense has to control him and if we play our style of ball, we should come out with a win.”
