SOUTH CHARLESTON -- It's the definition of styles clash.

The spread offense of South Charleston will go head-to-head with the ground-and-pound, smash-mouth style of Bridgeport on Saturday, with a trip to Wheeling on the line.

The defending Class AAA state champions get the benefit of home field advantage.

Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Laidley Field.

There is something that Black Eagles' Head Coach John Messinger thinks may eat at the Indians.

"They may be coming down here with a chip on their shoulder," Messinger said. "They're 12-0 on the season, we're 11-1, they might think they should be ranked higher, and maybe they should be."

The two schools have shared three common opponents this season.

Both South Charleston and Bridgeport have defeated Lewis County, Parkersburg, and George Washington.

The Eagles defeated Lewis in the first round of the playoffs, 45-18, while the Indians bounced them by 35 back in week three.

GW took South Charleston down to the wire at the beginning of the season before the Black Eagles edged out 28-21 victory.

Bridgeport blanked the Patriots, 31-zip last week in the quarterfinal round.

The Black Eagles utilized a second half explosion to beat the Big Reds, 45-24 in September.

Parkersburg put up more of a fight against Bridgeport, as a fourth quarter touchdown by the Tribe led to a 24-17 win in the first round of the postseason.
