Parkersburg Catholic Beats Fayetteville in Boys' Class A Tourney

Parkersburg Catholic now will prepare for Friday's semifinal game against Tucker County after beating Fayetteville in the state tournament.

No. 2 Parkersburg Catholic slipped past No. 7 Fayetteville in the West Virginia boys' Class-A High School Basketball Tournament Thursday.

Parkersburg Catholic won in a low scoring game 25-20.

Fayetteville player Nick Carte was injured with about four minutes left to play. Medical personnel removed him from the court. There is no word on his condition.

Nicholas Carte, was the high point shooter for Fayetteville scoring 9 points.

Parkersburg Catholic's, Cole Cwynar, scored a total of 11 points throughout the game.

The Crusaders will face No. 3 Tucker County in the semifinal game, which is set to begin at 11:15 a.m. Friday.
